Behaviour and Communication

There are many reasons that behavioural problems can occur, but one of the main reasons is a lack of understanding and communication between the animals and their humans. Communicating the issues can often have amazing effects in just one session!
Animals can also not be forced to do something that they do not want to to. I assist in offering insight, guidance and clarity to aid in resolving problems between animals and their humans. The animals will always do what makes sense to them through their viewpoint that comes from their experiences, education (or lack of), breeding, genetics and background. Sometimes the problem isn’t with them, it can be you, your family, or other animals in the household.
But even though I am a bridge of communication, I cannot control the mind, I cannot change the personality of an animal, and sometimes I may not be able to “fix” the problem, especially If the animal does not want to change, or sees no need or reason to change their behaviour. They will sometimes disagree with making the necessary changes and they will continue with such behaviour. It is also important to note that if you are asking an animal to change, then you also must be willing to make changes.
When it comes to speaking to the animals of a multi-animal household, certain behaviours may surface. Addressing these issues can be a bit tricky, but is usually effective, although it can cause behaviours to adjust (usually positive). I am there to relay the animal's viewpoint and try to come up with a resolution, and compromises might need to be made by both parties.
This is where a qualified behaviourist might need to be called in to try and assist the pet parent by explaining certain behaviours and changes that could be made in order to assist the animal and human to live peacefully. I am fortunate enough to be a qualified behaviourist for both Felines and Canines, and can also assist in this regard should the need arise.
